The accrual of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) has been established to be extremely linked to lasting chronic health consequences and risky behaviors in adulthood. ACE is usually termed as childhood experiences that result in suffering or harm and ultimate result is usually negative physical and psychological development of the child. Studies done by The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and Kaiser Permanente’s Health Appraisal Clinic shows that these ACEs impact how the child develops as they mature. Additionally, a child who has undergone such traumatic events may end up becoming depressed; have suicidal tendencies, or even she can chronically ill. There is a way an individual can find out the likelihood of this happening and this is done by taking the ACE test. Scores that are above 4 are the ones one should be worried about.
